It is clear that students who struggle with reading and spelling need a different approach to learning language from more traditional methods most often taught in our schools. We have proven that they need to be taught slowly and thoroughly the basic elements of their language – the sounds and the letters which represent them – and how to put these together and take them apart.
Quite simply, they have to have their writing hands, eyes, ears and voices working together in conscious organization and retention of their learning.
Remediation Plus employs a proprietary, systematic approach to remediate the root of academic frustration in children diagnosed with specific language learning disabilities or reading delays. Our lesson plan curriculum and tests allow teachers to test and analyze the root of the reading and spelling problem and through a series of pre-determined lessons, remediate them. We also train teachers to teach emergent readers preventatively in order to greatly reduce literacy problems from occurring in the first place.
